Guest Speaker Kelvin Cobaris
Bishop Kelvin L. Cobaris, a native of Orlando, Florida, is the son of the late Paul L.
Cobaris and Arvella L. Cobaris, the loving and devoted spouse of Diedra Lafran
Cobaris, and the proud father of Kelsey Leigh and Kyler Langston Cobaris. Bishop
Cobaris has been in the ministry for more than thirty years and has served the body of
Christ in various capacities.
Bishop Cobaris has served as the Senior Pastor of the Greater Central Church of God in
Orlando, FL, Elm Street Church of God in Fernandina Beach, FL, and Faith Memorial
Church of God in Leesburg, FL. Additionally, he served as the State Evangelism & Home
Missions Director for the Florida-Cocoa Executive Office of the Church of God (2002-
2006) and has been elected to several non-profit and community boards. He is a noted
speaker and has been placed in great demand at workshops, seminars, crusades, and
conferences, both inside and outside of the United States; namely, Jamaica, Bahamas,
Dubai, India, Australia, and South Africa.
In October of 2004, Bishop Cobaris launched the Empowerment Ministries Church.
Empowerment’s mission quickly made a name for itself as being “more than a church in
a community, but a community church” by Educating, Equipping and Empowering men
and women through Biblical and practical teachings. In 2012, Bishop Cobaris merged
the Empowerment Church with the Livingston Street Church of God—the church where
he received his tutelage. After a brief pastoral tenure, he and his spiritual father, the late
Bishop Thomas E. Chenault, launched The Impact Church of Orlando, where together
they worked towards making an impact in the kingdom and community through sharing
the message and employing the method of unconditional love.
In addition to being an internationally known speaker, Bishop Cobaris is a proud
graduate of the historical Jones High School in Orlando. He also earned a Bachelor of
Science Degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University for Organizational Management.
His education has assisted him in being a leading voice in the community as he is
responsible for the development of several community-based organizations. His
background coupled with his outspoken nature has catapulted him into the spotlight of
massive crime prevention efforts in the city of Orlando. His commitment to social justice
led to him being elected to serve as President of the African American Council of
Christian Clergy (2016-2018), member of the Orange County Public Schools Faith-
Based Council, and named as one of Orlando Sentinel’s 100 Influential Voices.
Additionally, Bishop Cobaris proudly serves as the President of Cobaris Ministries
International and Board Chair for Faith In Florida—two local organizations making a
global impact in the Kingdom of God and the world. Most notably, in 2017, Bishop
Cobaris received the distinct honor and privilege of serving on the Spiritual Advisory
Council to the 45 th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. As part of this
council, he has had the opportunity to effect change on a national level through criminal
justice reform and providing ground-level hurricane support.
Bishop Cobaris is a man that is driven by purpose. He is dedicated to proclaiming the
Word of God, winning the lost, and serving God’s people locally, nationally, and
internationally.
